With the House’s passage and Senate’s debate of the “Hate Crimes” legislation, there is a lot of debate about how this bill would alter the very make up of American freedom. Would it infringe on the freedom of religion and speech or punish those who practice and preach hate? Would it create a protected class or simply protect a minority who are treated by bigotry and hatred? Will it be another “living” document that would change as definitions change, or is all that just a smoke screen to perpetuate hate?

Most of us remember that wonderful quote from the campaign trail where candidate Barack Obama, when asked about when he thought life began, stated that it was a question above his pay grade to know. Amazing. He thinks it’s above his pay grade to know, so he’ll err on the side of death. It just seems to me that if he wasn’t sure, he would be pro-life, just to make sure he didn’t get it wrong and end life. Especially if he is a Christian. I’m sure his opposition to the death penalty is because he’s Christian.
Well, now he’s stepping out above his pay grade, again.
Recently, the Obamessiah signed the executive order overturning the Bush order against embryonic stem cell research. Bush had limited the use of federal funds to a few lines that were already in the process of research. Contrary to what liberals and the media would have us believe, Bush didn’t end the research on embryonic stem cells, just the use of taxpayer dollars on such research. Companies who felt there was genuine hope could always have funded the research themselves.
Now, we keep hearing of the promise for cures for such disorders as Parkinson’s and diabetes. Funny thing is, adult stem cells are currently working to treat these disorders. Yet, we are led to believe that embryonic stem cells are necessary for cures, even though in actual trials the results are often catastrophic.
Since the eugenic order was signed a few weeks ago, many states (who we must believe don’t think the idea of the beginning of life is above their paygrade) are not giving up so easily. Many states, such as Texas, Oklahoma and Georgia, are fighting back by considering legislation at the state level denying access to funding on embryonic stem cell research in their states. Texas governor Rick Perry signed an order a few weeks ago to increase funding for adult stem cell research, citing current and past success as the reason to push forward.
We live in a country were innocence is presumed over guilt, no matter the evidence. Yet, the left, lovers of civil rights and freedom, refuse to give the smallest and most fragile in our nation, the unborn, this same protection. Many in the medical and science communities feel the evidence points to life beginning at conception, believing there is no “magical” impartation with birth. The left, though, refuse to show the least bit of compassion on these persons. The President has clearly shown this with just two strokes of his pen; exporting death and promoting eugenics. Let’s hope these states are successful in holding back this latest act of tyranny.

Compassion is a word that is thrown around by both Democrats and Republicans. While both sides approach the subject from complete different directions, both are determined that their brand of compassion is the Christian attitude. So, I thought I would address what both forms of compassion entail, in respect to Christianity (since this really is a Christian nation).
First of all, socialism cannot be compatible with Christianity. It is, in fact, at odds with Christian teaching. Socialism is determined to provide equality and welfare by government intervention. This is what both Hillary Clinton and Barak Obama want. The idea is that the government must take care of every aspect of life, from fair wages to health care to care for the poor. Christianity, as Jesus taught, teaches that it is up to the people, as individuals, to care for one another. This is why they are incompatible; socialism preaches government responsibility by compulsion and Christianity preaches individual responsibility from love.
